Coors Light MODIFIED RULES

COMMUNICATIONS: All competitors must have a RACEceiver 1600 in car radio to compete at the Raceway for the 2008 season.  They can be purchased through the Raceway by clicking here or rented for $10 per night with your own economy ear buds

Cars: factory production complete full 1960 or newer passenger car.

Body: American compact passenger only. mustang ii, tempo, cavalier, daytona, gremlin, amc, etc. must use steel or fiberglass full size roof and should be stock appearing. stock appearing front windshield and rear support unit (painted roll bars will not be acceptable substitute). fire wall and floor boards are mandatory. all body parts should be recognized as factory production vehicle. fiberglass or, metal replacement bodies are allowed. homemade body parts can be made from steel, aluminum, fiberglass, but must be recognized as factory. no slab bodies. all cars in competition must be completely painted. unpainted aluminum bodies will not be accepted. numbers should be large and legible on both doors in contrasting colors. 4" wide and 20" tall, roof numbers 30" tall and 4" number in the top right corner of windshield opening. max. of 1" drop from the front to the rear of the roof line. 6" maximum spoiler. engine compartment will remain open, no side panels. hood sides may have a max of 4" drop and must be enclosed at rear end of hood. bodies should extend no further forward than back of the block (pass. side must be no further forward than rear block). rear of bodies to be solid panels at least 8" high and be tied down, with car number. no mirrors or reflecting device of any kind. driver and pass. window must have at least 12" vertical opening.

Weight:  2400 lb. weight rule is effect for the modifieds after the feature with steel heads. Aluminum heads must have fifty pounds in front of mid-plate. Any car using less than 23-degree heads must weigh 2500 pounds. If using aluminum heads must weigh 2500 pounds and add fifty pound in front of mid-plate.

Frame: no part of race car can be lower than four inches form the ground (exception is front cross member and oil pan). frames may BE CUT in rear only AT POINT not further than 36 inches from center of rear end housing. no front clips or tube type allowed. max two in. wide by four in tall frame stiffener maybe be welded directly to outside of frame rail. frames may not be widened or narrowed and must be able to support roll cage on both sides. must be full and complete both sides. front cross member must remain full and intact where joined at the frame rails, center of crossmember may be notched for radiator and or steering clearance only. no jeep, bronco etc. or four wheel drive frames allowed. no sports car frames allowed. no front wheel drive allowed. min wheelbase, 108 in, both sides. max overall width front and REAR shall not exceed 78 in from outside of tire to outside tire. brakes: brakes must be operated on all four wheels and must lock up all four wheels during inspection. no brake shut off devices allowed. proportioning valves allowed, front to rear only. rotors cannot be lightened, rotors maybe be re drilled for different bolt pattern or larger studs. must be steel, approved OEM calipers, and they cannot be lightened. No titanium products, parts or components allowed anywhere on the race car. no gun drilled, tubular or hollow bolts or studs anywhere on the car.

Engine: ALUMINUM HEADS are approved but no aluminum blocks allowed. any American make engine maybe be used as long as rear of ENGINE BELL HOUSING FLANGE IS mounted at least 72 in forwards from the center line of rear axle. engine offset must be kept within two in. of centerline of front cross member. engine height min will be 11in from ground to front center of crankshaft. all engines used in COMPETITION MUST be able to be used in conventional passenger car without alteration. motor mounts cannot be removed or altered. castings and fittings must not be changed. no machine work on outside engine or on front or rear of crankshaft. no magnetos. no total "dry sump" systems allowed. "wet" system must be operative and will go with engines if claimed. oil coolers must not protrude above interiors. cooling system may be modified. any overflow tubes must be dir. to the ground, bet. frame rails. radiators to be mounted in front of engine only.

Clutch: mini clutch allowed. aluminum flywheels allowed.

Carb: one four barrel carb allowed

Ignition: no MAGNETOS, NO traction CONTROL, NO adjustable ignition control. FUEL &fuel systems: racing fuel cells required and must be mount by at least two solid steel straps two in wide around cell. fuel cells must be enclosed in steel container and must be mounted securely behind rear axle and between the rear tires, no lower than six in off the ground protected BY ROLL cage tubing. protective tubing must cover the rear and extend past both sides of full cell. fuel cell must be a min of four in and ahead of rear bumper and no part of fuel cell shall be lower than protective tubing. fuel cells must have check valves and bladders are highly recommended. fuel cells are limited to 32-GALLON max capacity. pick up must not be underneath fuel cell. a limit of one standard fuel filter allowed between the fuel cell and carb. fuel may be either gasoline or alcohol. no nitrous oxide. no performance enhancing fuel additives of any kind. penalty will be same as engine claim refusal loss of all track points a 30-DAY suspension and a $1k fine. one two or one four barrel carb allowed. must be naturally aspirated. no fuel INJECTION NO electronic fuel pumps

Suspension and steering: front suspension must be unaltered approved OEM and be in stock location and must be replaceable by stock parts. weight jacks must be in original center line of spring. stock passenger car spindles only. no fabricated spindles. spindles can be ground for brake calipers clearance only. bottom a frames cannot be altered or moved (exception can weld shock mount on a frame). no offset lower control arm bushings. tube type upper a frames allowed and can be moved. front sway bar must be approved OEM. no aluminum of fiberglass suspension or rear end parts allowed. steering box must be steel approved OEM and must remain within original bolt pattern for type of frame used. no rack & pinion. steel steering shafts and knuckles only. in cock pit steering may be modified to suit drivers taste, but must be kept on left side of cockpit. no center steering allowed. no coil over shocks allowed either front or rear. no homemade coil overs used anywhere on race car. rear of frame may be altered to accept for leaf or coil springs. any coil spring must be at least 4.5 in outside diameter. steel springs only. no torsion bars allowed in rear. no devices allowed that would enable driver adjustment to ALTER WHEELBASE or for weight jacking while car is in competition. no air chocks or air bags allowed. one shock per wheel only. additional shocks in other locations permissible. no covers on suspension parts expect clear cover on slider and shield to protect the shocks. the shield can cover no more than the front half of shock. no schrader valves allowed. outer tire rod and adjuster sleeve may be replaced by a min. .35 in steel tube and rod end.

Roll bars and cage: must consist of continuous hoops not less than 1.666in outside diameter and must have a wall thickness of at LEAST. 095IN. low carbon mild steel tubing is recommended. must be frame mounted in at least six places. no brazing or soldering allowed. must consist of a configuration of front and rear hoops connected by tubing on the sides or side hoops. DRIVERS’ head must not protrude outside cage with helmet on and strapped in drivers seat. must have min of one cross bar in top halo of roll cage. roll cage must be securely supported and braced. protection of feet is RECOMMENDED. bar across back of engine with vertical bars and rub rails or similar protection. no brace bars forward of cage may be higher than stock hood height. main cage no further foreword than engine plate. a min of 3 driver side door bars at least 1.5 in and must be as parallel with the ground as possible and located perpendicular to the driver so as to provide max protection for driver but without causing undue difficulty in getting into or out of VEHICLE DOOR plate mandatory on drivers side of car and must cover the area from the top bar to the bottom bar. from the rear down post to five in. in front of driver. the side bars must be welded to the front and rear of the roll cage members. must have at least one cross door bar, min 1.25in O.D. on passenger side of car either horizontal or angled.

Bumpers: center of top bumper bar front and rear must be 18in plus or minus two inch from ground. steel bumpers must be used both front and rear. two bar front bumpers must be mounted frame end to frame end no wider than the width of material outside frame horns with the bottom loop parallel to the ground. top bar must be directly above bottom bar so bumper IS PERPENDICULAR to ground. must be made of min. 1.25 in tubing and must be able to support car if lifted by wrecker. rear bumper steel nerf bars and bodies must not extend beyond width of rear tires and must not contain any sharp edges. rear bumper no more than two in wider than body on each side. rear bumper must resemble one of three configurations 1. straight bumpers can be no wider than five in outside each frame rail 2. if the bumper is wider than that it must be bent foreword on the ends at a 90-DEGREE angle 3. a bumper constructed in a loop design.

Radiator: radiator and trans. coolers must mounted under the hood.

Seat and belts: metal racing seats only no giber glass seats. 5 point racing harness that are safety approved and less that 2 years old. seats/belts must be bolted to frame.

Tires and wheels: Mccreary American racer, HOOSIER tires, g60 (kk704) with IMCA stamped on sidewall, no softening or conditioning. siping / GROOVING OF tires is allowed. no recaps allowed. all wheels must have an IMCA approved decal. no wide five wheel adaptors allowed. aluminum or steel spacers allowed. may use bead lock on right rear only and wheel must be an IMCA approved wheel prior to use as a bead lock wheel. external steel bead lock only and it cannot make the wheel any narrower than 8 in and no wider than 8.75 in. must use only steel bolts one foam type or plastic mud cap allowed on right rear only. may weld three tabs no more than two in long on wheel fro mounting of mud cap. bleeder valves are allowed.

Rear ends: any approved OEM passenger car type or truck rear end may be used. no aluminum allowed except lowering blocks axle cap and drive flange a one inch. inspection hole in center section is recommended. full steel spool steel mini spool or welded rear ends only. quick change rear ends are optional. no cambered rear ends one piece drive flange only. no electronic or mechanical traction control devices allowed.

Transmissions: must have at least one gear forward and one reverse plus a neutral pos. with motor running and car in still pos. driver must be able to engage car in gear and move forward then backward. only OEM production type trans will be allowed three speed four speed and automatic. no five speed transmissions in and out boxes or quick change devices allowed. functioning shifter must be in stock location on trans manufactured after 1995. al manual gear type trans must have a standard OEM case and must have a working disc type or approved cone type clutch inside an explosion proof steel bell housing. automatic trans must remain in OEM stock appearing automatic case. original bell housing must remain. must have an approved scatter shield or blanket. scatter shield may be constructed of quarter in by three in steel 270 degrees around flex plate or flywheel. aftermarket trans allowed. Bert or Brinns trans ok. weight: loose objects and or weights must not be used in drivers compartment or outside of the body or hood area. any weights added to other areas of vehicles must be securely mounted and must be painted white and have the car number on it and attached with at least two half in bolts. NO TITANIUM products parts or components allowed anywhere on the car. no gun drilled tubular or hollow bots or studs anywhere on the car. mufflers: all cars MUST HAVE mufflers. all cars must meet 100 dba @ 100 feet according to track meter no tolerance you will not be allowed or race at any time without meeting this rule.

Starters: must be in working order.

Safety: full drivers race suit required at any time You Are ON the track (one or two piece). snell 90 APPROVED HELMETS only no motorcycle helmets. 5pt racing harness, max of TWO YEARS old. fire extinguishers or fire systems must be installed in all cars. neck rolls/RESTRAINT, WINDOW NET AND/OR ARM RESTRAINTS REQUIRED. fire resistant gloves and fire safety shoes are highly recommended.
