We're running a little behind this year, but let's get the Springfield Raceway Turkey Bowl Count Down Started with a few posts over the next few hours to get us started and back on track.

Let's start the countdown with a backward order, from the first Turkey Bowl to the 17th.

A little info I learned about the Turkey Bowl was it started differently than the Turkey Bowl. It began as the Turkey Night Open Wheel Classic. The first race was set to run on November 24, 2007, and it was run on that date.

The first cars involved in the event were 360 Sprint, Midget, and Modified cars. 

The winner of the 360 Sprint car was #1 Danny Debbi Lasoski, 

Midget car was the #5d of Zach Daum 

Modified was the one and only #21 of Jackie Dalton Racing
