We're running a little behind this year, but let's get the Springfield Raceway Turkey Bowl Countdown started with a few posts over the next few hours to get us started and back on track.

Now, let's have a little fun as we post about the turkey bowl.

Let's start the countdown with a backward order, from the first Turkey Bowl to the 17th.

The name changed for the second time to Open-Wheeled Turkey classic. It was scheduled to run on November 29, 2008, but due to the weather, it would have to wait till March 14, 2009.

The Winners would be 360 Sprint car was Brian Brown Racing. 

Midgets, it would be @Brad Lovet. 

The Modified would be the one and only Terry Phillips Racing. 

This would be the first year for the Sports Mods, and Colt James Cheevers would take home the first win for the new class.
