Turkey Bowl Countdown: #3
We're running a little behind this year, but let's get the Springfield Raceway Turkey Bowl Countdown started with a few posts over the next few hours to get us started and back on track.
Let's start the countdown with a backward order, from the first Turkey Bowl to the 17th.
The name changes for the Third time in a row to the Turkey classic. It was run on November 28, 2009. This would be the first time it has run twice in 1 year.
There were a few changes to the event as the 360 Sprint Cars and the Midget would not run this year are anytime after in the Turkey Bowl.
The only original class would be the Modifieds, with the win going to Steve Martin, and the Modifieds will keep running even this year.
The sports mods also returned for the second year, with the win going to Billy-Angela Street.
The first new class that was added was the Late Models, with the win going to Ken Essary Racing, and the late Models would become the main event even this year.
This would also be the first year for the Legend, with the win going to David Bauer.
